This is the Atari competitor to Commodore's Amiga after Jack Tramiel was ousted from Commodore only to take over at Atari.

The STe is a nice machine, the design with the angled keys and the nice off white shade makes it stand out. Ram in the machine is 520k and it has a double sided disc drive, the OS isn't quite as good as the Amiga's but it is functional. the e at the end of the name is for Enhanced, this machine can do nice scrolling as it has the blitter like the Amiga but with it being a slightly later variation it was to little to late and the Amiga had become the premiere machine especially for games. There are a few games that use the extra functions like Chambers of Shaolin and Interphase but there aren't that many stand out titles.

At least the ram on this machine was easy to upgrade, it has the same ram as an old PC, 30 pin simms so I bought a 4Mb kit from Atari ST Freakz and it only took 10 minutes or so to install the ram.
